Refund Policy

When and how you can get your money back — in plain English first, then in full. The short version: the app is free to try, paid plans come with a 14-day right to change your mind, and you can cancel any time.

The short version

A plain-English summary. The full, legally-operative policy is below.

  • Try before you buy. The core app is free and local-first, so you can see if Wayscript fits before paying for anything.
  • 14-day cooling-off period. Under UK consumer law you can change your mind within 14 days of buying a paid plan or credit pack and ask for a refund.
  • One catch on digital content. If you start using a paid AI feature within those 14 days, you agree we can begin straight away — which means you may lose the cooling-off right for the part already used.
  • Cancel any time. Cancelling stops future renewals; you keep paid access until the end of the period you've already paid for. We don't charge a cancellation fee.
  • Something went wrong? If you were charged in error, double-billed, or the service was faulty, email us and we'll put it right.
  • How to ask. Contact [email protected]. Payments run through Paddle, our Merchant of Record, so approved refunds are returned by Paddle to your original payment method.

The full policy

1. About this policy

This Refund Policy explains when you're entitled to a refund on a paid Wayscript subscription or review-credit pack, and how to request one. It's provided by Binary Spiders Ltd (UK company no. 09525143) and forms part of our Terms of Service. Nothing in this policy limits your statutory rights as a consumer.

2. The free app

Wayscript's core desktop, mobile, and web app is free and local-first, so there's nothing to refund on the free plan. We recommend trying it before subscribing to make sure it works for you.

3. Your 14-day right to change your mind

If you're a consumer, UK law gives you a 14-day cooling-off period after buying a paid subscription or credit pack, during which you can cancel for any reason and receive a refund of the amount you paid for that purchase.

The digital-content exception. Wayscript's paid AI features (passage diagnostics, the Reviewer, Discover analysis, and Smart Compose) are digital content supplied on demand. If you ask us to start supplying a paid feature within the 14-day window, you acknowledge that you consent to immediate performance and accept that you lose the right to cancel for any part already supplied. Where you've used only part of your allowance, we may refund a fair, proportionate amount for what remains unused, at our discretion.

4. Subscriptions and renewals

Paid subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from your account settings or through Paddle; cancelling stops future renewals and you keep paid access until the end of the period you've already paid for. We don't charge cancellation fees.

Renewal charges are generally non-refundable once the new period has begun, except where the law requires otherwise or where we agree a refund under section 6. To avoid an unwanted renewal, cancel before your renewal date — we'll send a reminder where we're able to.

5. Review credits

Review credits included with a plan are for use within your billing period and have no cash value once used. Credit packs you buy are covered by the 14-day right in section 3; once you begin spending the credits in a pack, refunds for that pack are handled on the proportionate basis described above.

6. When we'll refund beyond your statutory rights

We want you to be happy with Wayscript. Beyond your legal rights, we'll consider a refund if:

  • you were charged in error or billed more than once for the same period;
  • you were charged after cancelling and before the change took effect; or
  • a fault on our side meaningfully prevented you from using a paid feature and we couldn't fix it in reasonable time.

Refunds aren't normally given for simply forgetting to cancel before a renewal, for change of mind after the cooling-off period once digital content has been used, or where an account has been terminated for a serious breach of our Terms of Service.

7. How to request a refund

Email [email protected] from the address on your account, telling us what you bought and why you'd like a refund. We aim to respond within a few business days. Because Paddle (Paddle.com Market Ltd) is the Merchant of Record for your purchase, approved refunds are processed by Paddle and returned to your original payment method; the time it takes to appear depends on your bank or card provider. Your purchase is also subject to Paddle's own buyer terms and refund handling.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we'll update the date at the top. The policy that applied at the time of your purchase governs that purchase.
